GRANSHAN Competition 2016 for Non-Latin Typefaces

in , ,

Granshan is the hub for global visual identity. We celebrate the typefaces, typography, and communication design that enable communities to develop culture and enterprise in a balance between local, regional, and global. With a regard to the significance of communication, and based on eight years of experience GRANSHAN decided to change the structure of its competition. Three new main categories of entries will make the ninth GRANSHAN Competition 2016 more interesting and exiting than ever.

Non Latin: created exclusively for Non-Latin scripts with no Latin complements. Non-Latin-Latin: focused on typefaces designed with a specific combination of Non-Latin and a corresponding Latin version. Multiscript Non-Latin: established for typefaces with at least two Non-Latin complements intended to work combined, without reference to any accompanying Latin.

All type designers from all parts of the world are invited to take part in the competition. Entries open until August 31st 2016. Please find more information (f.e. categories, submission procedure, entry form and specific deadlines) at www.granshan.org

Save the date: Also based on intercultural exchange, GRANSHAN yearly conferences explore the idea of typography and design as a part of a culture’s means of expression. The next GRANSHAN conference will take place at Cairo/Egypt, October 27th to 19th 2016.
