Ab sofort ist die Teilnahme am Young Illustrators Award 2012 möglich. Gesucht werden zeitgenössische Illustrationen und Grafiken in 3 Kategorien: Illustration, Animation und Buchkunst. Die Auszeichnung soll junge Designer in ihrem künstlerischen Praxis unterstützen und ermutigen. Der Preis für die Anmeldung beträgt 30 Euro und ist damit für junge Studenten erschwinglich, vor allem wenn man die Gewinnersumme von 6.000 Euro beachtet. Einsendeschluss ist der 31. Oktober 2012. Um sich einen Eindruck zu verschaffen gibt es die Gewinner-Arbeiten von 2008-2010 hier zu sehen. Veranstaltet wird das ganze von Illustrative Berlin.

The nominees of the Young Illustrators Award will be invited to Berlin and get the opportunity to exhibit their work at the next Illustrative Festival in April 2013, the leading international festival for contemporary illustration and graphic arts. The winners await prizes worth 6000 Euros as well as publications, illustration agency contracts and a chance to be featured in future international exhibitions.

For the first time, in the framework of the Illustrators-in-Residence-Programme of Direktorenhaus, we additionally invite the 3 first winners of the award to work for 3 month at our exhibition space 'Direktorenhaus' in Berlin and to show their artistic concept developed during that time in a special exhibition. The travel expenses for winners outside Berlin will be assumed by us.
