Yes, we admit that sometimes we’re lazy, too. But most of the time we simply enjoy what we’re doing, which happens to be type design.
And yes, we use computers to produce these typefaces. But one of our basic premises is not to let the computer lead the design process. Looking back at the type design of the past years, it seemed that many creations were overruled by the imaginary perfection of the machine-made form. Not the technically perfect and reproduceable outline is important, but the overall unique aesthetic concept and terms of readability, which do not naturally concur with the computers abilities. Therefore we do use the latest technologies but originally our fonts are truly handmade.
