Hey, do you remember Yanone? www.yanone.de
Maybe you remember his freefont “Kaffeesatz”, published on Slanted. Sehr gut!
Jan Gerner is a student at Bauhaus Uni Weimar and this is his brand new Stencil Font. It is called Pochoir.

Pochoir is based on a sweet stencil antiqua typeface with round and thick serifs. The idea of making a stencil font of it, was inspired by Paris street art.

It comes in two flavours: Regular (designed to be cut out of cardboard and errrh... sprayed onto walls and stuff), Sprayed (intended for printing and on-screen purposes, as it looks like it has already been sprayed) and Splotch (that can be applied to the Sprayed font to give the whole thing a more out-inna-the-streets look).

The construction of Pochoir, different from the "normal" stencil fonts, is made to respect the original antiqua typeface "contrast" and "legibility".
Why ligatures in a stencil font? “... it’s actually quite important for the physical integrity of the cardboard stencil, as it will rip apart and become labile where letters collide.”
