HfG Karlsruhe Rundgang 2026

Annual Exhibition

Author: Emma Waldraff

From 16–19 July 2026, Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design (HfG Karlsruhe) opens its doors for the annual Rundgang, presenting around 100 projects by students from all departments.

Visitors are invited to explore installations, performances, films, objects, publications and experimental artistic interventions throughout the university's studios, workshops and exhibition spaces. The Rundgang offers a unique opportunity to experience current artistic and design practices while meeting the students and faculty behind the projects.

This year's visual identity reflects the idea of a cultural "vibe shift"—a moment of transition, uncertainty and transformation. Concepts such as movement, instability, balance and tipping points shape both the exhibition design and many of the featured works.

Alongside the exhibition, visitors can join guided tours, screenings, talks and additional public events organised together with the student body.

Founded in 1992, HfG Karlsruhe combines art, design and theory in an interdisciplinary environment and maintains a close partnership with the neighbouring ZKM | Center for Art and Media.
