A Collaboration of Ampersands
A miscellany of ampersands created for clients, from studio projects and workshops over the last ten years.
These are interspersed with naturally occurring ampersands - formed of string, rubber bands and ribbons. Unintentional glyphs spotted in the studio, on walls, or in nature.
Collaborations with coincidence.The more closely one looks, the more ampersands begin to appear in unexpected places.
The book also includes a cast of characters created by studio collaborators.
Collaboration, literally meaning ‘working together’, was written into our studio name from the start.
It opens up the idea of the ampersand beyond the collection itself, giving space to different voices and interpretations.It seemed fitting to invite friends to add their perspectives. Bespoke & paperclips were made as bookmarks. Everything comes together at the ampersand.
