Biomech Glyphs

Our research group at the Institute for Information Systems (iisys) analyzes the movements of surfers and skaters using 3D-Human-Pose-Estimation and visualizes the data. As part of a side project, we experimented with ways to represent this data using typography. We developed a custom tool that searches for letters within the data-driven skeleton sequences according to specified rules and patterns. This resulted in typographic data visualizations and a new font.
