In 2021 Lizzy Burt began taking in the view from the beer-soaked concrete terraces of Belgian men’s football. Anderlecht and Standard Liège whose glory days ended in the 80s still have a faithful following that spans the country and language divide. But just as much pride and passion can be found at Charleroi on a damp Saturday evening where a win over Antwerp felt like the only thing that happened there that day, or at Genk on a cold Sunday afternoon with the sun hanging low in a cloudless sky.
