The coming of the autumn in the eyes of a child: warmth, dry grass and the wings of the leaving birds.
This must be the place
The series of posters reflecting on the topic of home, inspired by the song “This must be the place” by Talking Heads.
Vytynanka “Chestnut”
This Vytynanka was inspired by one of Kyiv’s symbols — chestnut (and Catherine’s dog, who adores playing with them).
A Typeface Inspired by the Works of Sviatoslav Hordynskyi
Sviatoslav Hordynskyi was a renowned Ukrainian artist and graphic designer. His works have inspired my new typeface design. The verse ‘А я у гай ходила’ is by the Ukrainian poet Pavlo Tychyna.
War metronome.
Visualization between heartbeats and rocket explosions. When he feels life and death that pulsate in the same rhythms.
Catalog of an art exhibition “Andriy Sahaidakovsky. The Scenery. Welcome!”
I love it when you have a great visual link between the exhibition’s catalogue and the exhibition itself. Here I’ve “imported” the yellow color of the artist’s total installation into the book. Sahaidakovsky is a Lviv-based artist and his approach lies in recycling everyday objects in an unusual way. Once I saw a hand-cut signage that invited to eat in a local cheap canteen in a small village. So, letters I found turned out to become a basis for creating this accident font. Recycling was a key.
Changes in the city
The comic is a part of the ongoing series documenting war.
UFO on Lybidska
This work is inspired by a real building in Kyiv called the “UFO” (Літаюча тарілка) which is under the threat of demolition. In the artwork, the author exaggerates this building, transforming it into a large flying ufo somewhere in the future.
Pendulum
The poster shows a pendulum. The Russian bullet that hit Ukraine and started the war. Now this bullet is dangerous and threatens everyone.
Tradition / Nation T-Shirt
These t-shirts were specially designed and produced as a collaboration between two Ukrainian art collectives: GALAS and O–PLICH– for a charity event in Warsaw. Vokzalna
Vokzalna (Railway) Station Identity, inspired by the perpetual heartbeat of the city – the Kyiv Metro. Most people admire Kyiv’s landscapes, but few seem to pay attention to its equally picturesque underground. This identity was born from exploring the visual identity of the area and began with the idea that the station’s hall wall grid could serve as an ideal canvas for lettering. A mesh that narrates the journey’s path.
A Study in Yellow And Blue
This is a comic strip about the belief systems we adopt as children and struggle with in our adult lives. Anastasiia focuses on the idea of justice seen through the lens of detective stories she used to read in her childhood, and how distorted it became after the full-scale invasion.
Love wins.
They express Honor and Respect to the defenders, as well as to all those who care from the countries that support Ukraine. Glory to Ukraine!!! Glory to heroes!!! Ukraine and Germany together. Love wins.
Animated intros for LNAA Educational programs
The Lviv National Academy of Arts is one of the largest art educational centers of Ukraine. Every year it attracts more and more applicants and continues to work despite the full scale invasion.
Thus, it was decided that it was necessary to create a series of promotional advertising videos with animated intros that would communicate the Academy’s values to the target audience and talk about its educational programs.
re-BUILD-THE-COUNTRY
As there is a hope of the quick rebuilding of the post-war Ukraine, there is also a worry. It is not an unusual for the new building in here to be of a poor quality, cardboard walls and cheap material. Now it is up to us to rebuild Ukraine in it’s glory.
Vytynanka “Home”
Wave bright
It is a hard time in our history when flag shines brighter than moon and stars all together. When flag means more than a combination of colours. More than a national symbol. More than anyone can put into words. It is something that we have in our hearts and that keeps us on fighting for who we are.
Bent,but not broken
ukraine is facing terrifying missile strikes everyday, but we live, we laugh and we`ll win
Save Ukraine Flowers
This work is created for a community that opposes the demolition of a historically significant building for Ukraine called “Kvity Ukrayiny.”
LGBTQ+ military
The Ukrainian army is not homogeneous and does not consist exclusively of military personnel. People of different races, genders, religions, and orientations are standing in defense of the country, protecting their future.
Once peaceful
Since childhood forest has always been the place where I spent good and bad moments of my life. It was a playground and a perfect spot for family activities. When I grew up, long walks in the forest helped me to reflect on my life and make life-changing decisions. Nowadays, forests, same as great part of our land, have become a battlefield and a shelter for Ukrainian soldiers. Once a peaceful place will never be the same. As Ukrainians and their lives.
Focus in a fog of war
The illustration was commissioned by EmDash magazine in the fall of 2022.
