There is something special about discovering a typeface you have never seen before. A familiar word can suddenly take on a completely different character.

Typodarium 2027 once again takes a daily look at the ever-changing world of type design. Curated by Julia Uplegger, Raban Ruddigkeit, and Lars Harmsen, the calendar brings together 365 typefaces from designers around the world, from emerging talents to established names. Carefully selected, it offers a snapshot of what is happening in contemporary typography—and plenty of inspiration for the year ahead.

For 2027, Sundays have a special focus: monospace typefaces. Inspired by the revival of the typewriter, the selection combines retro charm with contemporary interpretations of the monospaced letterform.

What started as a small idea for a tear-off type calendar has long become a fixture on the desks of designers and creatives. The format may have evolved over the years, but the idea remains the same: discovering type, one day at a time.

There is something special about discovering a typeface you have never seen before. A familiar word can suddenly take on a completely different character.

Typodarium 2027 is back with another daily dose of type. Choosing the right typeface is an often underestimated part of visual composition. Type communicates quietly, shaping the tone and character of a text before we even consciously notice it.

Since 2008, Typodarium has been exploring the constantly changing landscape of type design, bringing together new discoveries from around the world. For the 2027 edition, Julia Uplegger, Raban Ruddigkeit, and Lars Harmsen have selected 370 fresh fonts by 386 designers and foundries from 42 countries. A colorful collection of contemporary type and a daily source of inspiration for designers and type enthusiasts.

As always, Sundays reveal a trend within the trend. In 2027, the focus is on monospace typefaces. Inspired by the revival of the typewriter, these fonts combine retro charm with contemporary approaches to the monospaced letterform.

The 384 double-sided pages come in 12 colors and are collected in a sturdy box printed in three special colors and finished with a bronze-colored treatment. A small typographic observatory for the desk—and 365 reasons to discover something new every day.
