Final Theses and Projects of the HfG Offenbach of 2023 and 2024
The graduation magazine from HfG Offenbach brings together the diploma projects of 93 graduates from the years 2023 and 2024. Across 368 pages, the publication presents 183 diploma projects from the fields of art and design, spanning five theoretical and 19 practical subject areas. Texts in both German and English offer access to the diverse perspectives, approaches, and ideas developed by the graduates.
The magazine opens with a visual table of contents that functions not only as an orientation tool but also as a creative introduction to the publication and its wide range of projects. Following the foreword, the practical diploma projects are presented alongside insights into the accompanying theoretical theses, creating a dialogue between making, thinking, research, and experimentation. A specially developed guidance system runs throughout the publication, connecting the different areas of content and helping readers navigate the magazine. Instead of relying on traditional page numbers, the system creates a visual thread that links the projects and provides a sense of continuity across the 368 pages.
The cover further emphasizes the individual character of the publication. It consists of a sheet of stickers that readers can use to customize the cover themselves. By choosing, arranging, and combining the stickers, each reader can create their own version of the magazine. As a result, every copy becomes a unique object and reflects the experimental and participatory spirit of the graduation projects presented inside.
The publication is also shortlisted for the Förderpreis für junge Buchgestalter, awarded by Stiftung Buchkunst, recognizing its distinctive approach to editorial design, visual communication, and the relationship between content and form.
