Numbers are the purest typography in sports: no word, all meaning. This one has left the stadium — it shimmers on a sequined jersey, captured through analogue scanography. What happens on the scanner glass can't be controlled: light flares, sequins refract, varsity type breaks into glitter and glitch. Chance and error are part of the process — as they are part of every game. Where the raw scan meets clean digital type, the number sheds its function. What remains is attitude. NOT JUST A NUMBER.
