To draw attention to Chornobyl’s disappearing history, Banda created the travel branding for the Exclusion Zone. The studio began by searching for a powerful image that would help people reflect on what happened in Chornobyl, and this is where the idea of vanishing branding was born. Each year it gradually fades, to eventually disappear forever. The idea became the core of a fluid visual system, with time itself becoming the main visual character.

A series of posters dedicated to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The posters are politicized and full of despair. The radicalism and aggressiveness of some of the statements is what many Ukrainians wanted to shout out during the first 2 months of the war, which were the most difficult. These posters are a visual monument to the difficult experiences that were replaced by faith and the desire to continue living.

These two works from a continued series show a metaphoric wordplay that is hard to translate. “Ніжно” means tender, “ніж” is a knife. “Спокійна” – calm, but “Спокій n/a” turns into “calmness n/a”. Surrounded by intuitive line drawings, these wordplays reflect the dualist nature of the mind.

The main idea is to illustrate the healing of a hardened heart (traumatized psyche) during the course of treatment. Visually, the healing is represented by a reduction in the number of sharp angles.

The monument called ‘Motherland’ is one of the beloved symbols of resilience for the residents of Kyiv who, since the beginning of the war, continue to endure significant shelling of the city. This work was created as part of the ‘META HISTORY. MUSEUM OF WAR’ project.

The series talk about their own experience of living through the war in Kharkiv. It uses my and my friends’ posts on social networks and messengers. These posts are not memories, but are directly “moments of the moment”, which gives them a special emotionality.
