Shadows between the trees

The project “Shadows between trees” is based on the study of the surrounding world and touches on various aspects of our existence – life and survival, primal fears and dangers, “nakedness” and vulnerability.
With the help of photographs, the author invites viewers to join the conversation and think about the role of primitive instincts in the modern world. Visual and conceptual connections between the works of the author lead to the questions: “Who is the hunter, and who is the victim?” and “Wh

Series “Postcards from Ukraine”

Series was created during March 2022 as a reaction to russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Tamara showed cities that were affected by russian aggression in the state they were “before.” The illustrations were based on photographs from the list of destroyed cultural heritage sites in Ukraine and news reports.
The series of works is characterized by a vibrant color palette and a cheerful mood. It is a way of emphasizing the strong contrast that war has brought to previously peaceful places.

Comic-zine about cannabis “Mister Travchyk”

The main goal of the “Mister Travchyk” comic is to debunk stereotypes associated with the use of cannabis in society. The task of the comic is to briefly acquaint readers with various areas where cannabis can be beneficial and healing through 20 episodes, as well as encourage critical thinking.
The motivation behind the project was author’s personal experience using cannabis as a medicinal remedy.

“Evolution”

If teleportation could be, what would it look like? I imagine it in the form of a dome arch. In this art project called “Evolution”, arches are presented in the form of an embryo that grows depending on the growth and capabilities of new technologies, just like any embryo develops or an embryo changes over time and becomes an entity (in this project full arch teleportation “, but whether it will work it will show the future and all forms of its development).

Red Tree Explosion

The summer of 2022 marked the beginning of Russia’s nuclear blackmail. They continue to scare the whole world with their nuclear bombs. The logo is designed to defuse the situation and emphasize that even in the darkest times, you can find something bright – for example, a silhouette of a tree, instead of a nuclear explosion.

Football Club Emblem

Lviv was named in honor of Leo – King of Galicia-Volhynia. However, in the Ukrainian language “Lion” and “Leo” – is the same word, so Lviv is also known as “City of Lion”. Thus lion is the most recognizable symbol of Lviv. I tried to design an emblem, based on a lion muzzle. In my opinion, it can bring more identity for “Lviv”, than the heraldic lion which is widely used in football emblems design – Aston Villa, Frosinone, Chelsea, Olympique Lyonnais, Cordoba, and many other football clubs use

Water Rebrand

The new branding refers both to the Ukrainian Carpathians (whose peaks are relatively gentle) and the streams of water. At the same time, white lines symbolize silicon deposits (a key feature of this product) that purify water – the color from bottom to top becomes lighter the more “levels” of silicon it has passed.

Art Donation – Hit this rock

Persistent application of even small efforts often leads to incredible results. “Quiet waters run deep” teaches folk wisdom. So how deep can run donor’s blood? Surely, it can break an immeasurable and immeasurable granite rock (just like in the famous Ukrainian poet Ivan Franko’s poem) of human impotence in the face of diseases and injuries. And each new drop of blood is a blow to this powerlessness, another crack in the rock.

Freedom or Death

In the war against russia, Ukrainians predicted defeat in three days. But the thirst for freedom turned out to be stronger than the fear of death. We’ve been fighting for months now, but it can’t last forever. Now the chances are not equal, and only heavy weapons can give Ukrainians a chance for life and freedom.

Food Wastage Poster

By understanding the issue, taking action in their daily lives, and advocating for change, individuals can be part of the solution to this global crisis. Together, we can reduce food waste, alleviate hunger, and protect our planet.

Baroque_Retraced

Baroque_Retraced is a conceptual masterplan proposal where the irregularity in the placement of the structures came from manipulating the distinctive vernacular grid of Viennese landscape designs of the Baroque period.

Post-processing the dataset of existing parks through Al-based Neural Networks resulted in a distorted sequence of abstract, yet slightly representing familiar Baroque language compositions is superimposed onto the urban layout of the site.

Forward Festival Berlin 2023—Recap

In mid-September, the Forward Festival Berlin 2023 unfolded, and the Slanted team was thrilled to be part of this exciting event. From September 14th to the 16th, we immersed ourselves in two days at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt, meeting over 2,000 creative professionals from all corners of the world.

At the festival, we proudly showcased our publications alongside fellow exhibitors, engaging with an enthusiastic audience deeply rooted in the creative industry. Guided by the festival’s motto of “Connect, Create, Collaborate,” the event continued its tradition of uniting the creative community in Berlin for the third consecutive year.

The festival offered a diverse array of instructive workshops and captivating lectures, all happening concurrently at three different locations. Moderated by Davide Bortot and Andy Kassier, more than 40 speakers presented themselves and their work, offering insights into their creative processes. Highlight moments came from a wide range of international speakers: Esra Gülmen, Malika Favre, SNASK, and many others captivated the audience with their presentations. Valuable insights were shared by type designers like Dinamo, the motion studio New Format, collage designer Simone Cihlar, and fashion CGI artist Nina Doll. 3D artists Looping Lovers, Dinamo and BNAG as well as the formation COEVAL and many more showcased their works in the Expo Area. The Tutorial Stage provided a practical program with opportunities to expand one’s skills in areas such as AI coding, stop-motion, and content strategy.

Beside this we also had the privilege of engaging in captivating conversations, reconnecting with old acquaintances, and forging new connections. Additionally, the evenings were marked by delightful programs brimming with dancing and merriment.

Two days immersed in boundless creativity along the banks of the Spree River, within the inspiring ambiance of the reopened Haus der Kulturen der Welt—truly an unforgettable experience. We are very much excited about the Forward Festival 2024—a date will be announced soon.

Ukrainian Chthonic Tarot

The project consists of 78 Tarot cards, which are animated and move in AR. The deck is filled with images of Ukrainian culture, magic, cemeteries, mythology and the afterlife. The designer have started creating the deck several years ago, when she was diagnosed with clinical depression, and have continued her work during the Russo-Ukrainian war. This work became a kind of art therapy.

Flower of Despair

Reading through articles and photos from Bucha for days has been shocking due to the brutal nature of the events. What is the point of art if it cannot rescue a life? What is the significance of an artist’s words against the destructive power of artillery and the wily wiping out of all life forms? This raises new queries: Is it wise to keep working? What is the significance of an artist’s words against the destructive power of artillery and the wily wiping out of all life forms?

zone of discomfort

Step out of your comfort zone” is something we’ve all heard quite frequently. It’s often seen as a challenging and intimidating task, yet many folks believe it holds great value. But what happens when you unexpectedly land in the “zone of discomfort”? This piece is a reflection and contemplation on the idea of navigating beyond the discomfort zone. It’s a reflection that was written down on paper and later transferred to the world of digital

BigBig Identity

BigBig is a Ukrainian consulting agency. It has two co-founders who have combined their experience to help Ukrainian companies grow and scale businesses.
I’ve created a bespoke logo with custom letters on the left and modified letters based on the font on the right, came up with a slogan, created a custom typeface with one finger on the touchpad, and came up with funny and situative copywriting for brand communication.

To Be or Not to Be Alive

The series of posters was created to support endangered species of animals in Ukraine. Due to war, pollution of the environment, some species of animals are one step closer to extinction. The question that Hamlet asked himself is transformed into a question for each of us. Will we give these animals a chance to live or not? I used a marker to draw the animals, I got a copy of the images on the opposite side of the paper, a disappearing image, an imprint from the marker.

Volunteer Movement

A typographic poster in honor of the Ukrainian volunteer movement, which began to actively develop after the first Russian invasion in 2014 and gained momentum from February 24, 2022. The volunteer movement is an example of how the country can unite in the struggle for democracy and freedom of the nation.
