Spread love

After the dark winter, the day began to lighten up little by little. The gray fountain in park near my home, which had been frozen all winter, started working on the day Summertime began. I saw a fountain spouting water for the first time in a long time. it felt like love.

True Colors

New Years Card in collaboration with silkscreen printer Lézard Graphiques. Twelve beer mats printed in 15 colors. One side shows the term cheers in twelve languages and the other side one of twelve proud flags. For 2020 we wished everybody to sit together whatever country you are from and whatever your sexual orientation is. The title True Colors is borrowed from Cindy Laupers track.

Teardrop

Tears have a healing effect they flush out all negative thoughts and filter the positive ones. “Let the teardrops fall from your eyes”, as Inna De Yard celebrates in the song “Let the water run dry”. The analogue collage is inspired by this song and is part of a series of posters. As a group of five students we founded an initiative which we use as our common space for interchanging our creative thinking, to explore our individuality, exchange ideas and initiate projects. We started by sharing our most favourite songs to get inspired by the musical and lyrical atmosphere. Feel free to explore more of our collective works @papiamagazin.

RGB / all the colors (updated verison)

»all the colors« is a homage to graphic design and print. It plays with geometric shapes, the RGB color palette, and the layering of elements which creates light and shadow. The typeface OCR-A used for the print series is one of the first fonts created that could be recognised by both humans and computers.

P2P2P

P2P2P is an abstract depiction of how ideas are given life over the internet through collective input. The matrix takes inspiration from bitfields in torrent files, each point representing a single contributor, while the variance in textures, patterns and colours mimics the polarizing yet tribalist nature of human opinion.

Free Forms (007)

This poster can be described as a kinetic still life, a celebration of the dynamic community that has formed around CalArts. A legacy that thrives on the diversity between people, forms, and ideas; brought together as an experiment that can be loosely defined as concrete poetry, geometric jazz… and semi controlled scientific experimentation (thinking about 80s movies Toxic Avenger, Weird Science, etc… always a silly mix of temptation and greed to counterbalance the science at stake). The splitting and splicing of organic and geometric forms establishes a foundation for one to stand on, but there is a strong desire to breakout against the structure. This is where the fun happens.

Anniversary Flag

A flag designed in celebration of the 4th year anniversary of my marriage. The flag was created and gifted to my wife to monumentalise this milestone (linen) and the memory of the big day.

Symbolic elements have been incorporated into the flag to highlight different aspects of our wedding day. The central circle and radiating triangles symbolise the London lighthouse where the ceremony took place, line work represents the date 07.04.17, and the colour tone picks up on the bouquet.

Let the water run dry

I created the poster while listening to “Let the water run dry” by Inna de Yard and Ken Boothe. I took the lyrics from the song and arranged them in a different way
to address the environmental problem of water scarcity. There is no dry run for us to solve the environmental problems.

Posters

As we design posters for theory-intense events, they usually end up type-crowded, so we try to keep ’em loud, interesting and still mindful.
Color is used for entertainment, supporting content or just attracting ones attention.

Digitalizing The Water

Photos are part of the art project Digitalizing The Water. The project’s main idea is to offer an “alternative way” to save water with its digitalization. Humanity tries to preserve knowledge, intellectual and cultural heritage with digitalization techniques. Why not try doing the same with water, the most precious element on the planet. Photos are made with a phone camera without any computer editing.

Gigposters

Music was always one of the most important things in my life. For a long time I’ve been creating posters for various music venues in Poland for both, local and foreign artists. Posters are very special to me as I think they stand exactly where art and graphic design touch. In my work I’m always drawn to vivid colours and this is especially visible in my posters.

la nueva disquera

“La nueva disquera” is a fake record label.
It’s just my chance to design (fake) album covers.

I start doing this illustrations back in 2019.
The project has been exposed at El Diluvio Universal (Barcelona), april 2021.

Beyond Labour

The COVID-19 pandemic has proven how much we depend on labour. People fear for their existence and are demanding the right to work much as in earlier times. But in fact, what they actually aspire to is the right to exist in dignity. Is a dignified existence without labour unimaginable? The image «Beyond Labour» is part of an image series of the fictive report SWISSTOPIA AUTOMATA. The report visualises and thereby introduces us to a society in which labour does not play such a central and in many ways problematic role. It is a glimpse into a colourful world in which a dignified and self-determined existence realises itself through leisure.

Minuit avant la Nuit

Poster for the third (and last) edition of Minuit avant la Nuit (“Midnight before the night”) pop-rock music festival in Amiens, produced by La Lune des Pirates. For each edition we wanted a special atmosphere, inspired by mysterious dreams, natural elements & music.

1,100m2 color-code Scirocco

1,100m2 color-code Scirocco is a work for a residential and commercial building in Vienna-Favoriten, Austria.
Two open light wells on both sides of the corridors, 14 meters high, are attracted with a color code of 16 different colors. Colors of this code can be found in the hallways to the apartments.

Udon Soup To Go

You can find beauty in color all the time. You just have to look closely and might need to change your point of view. In our dreary everyday life we often tend to lose joy in the little things. This picture was taken on an ordinary day in spring. Just me and some friends eating Udon Noodles and fooling around in my car. Capturing the small moments that count. Oh and look at those colors!
