Rock moods

Exploration of different atmospheres using painted and varnished rocks on different backgrounds. In these examples, a light that recalls direct sunlight was used to enhance the bright colors and the shiny finish.

Bare Emotion

“Bare Emotion: Advocating Emotional Literacy Using the Poster As A Medium” is the title of a project/essay under the MA Gutenberg Intermedia program at the Hochschule Mainz.

Based on my own experience of psychotherapy, I wondered why counseling rooms didn’t feature posters on emotions or mental health, just like a doctor’s office or clinic displays scientific posters of the human body. Can we educate on emotions using the poster as a medium? How to represent abstract concepts such as emotion in a therapy setting?

meanwhile, everything in between

snippets and repetitions of the supposedly banal seem to be the protagonists, while color underlines the strange happening.
in this intermediate stage of apparent stasis exists the possibilities for incidents that have already happened or are yet to come. and it’s up to you to fill in the blanks and keep the story going.

Synaesthesia 2021

Synaesthesia is a neurological phenomenon. We created a calendar that opens a window into that world. People with synaesthesia perceive their surroundings with other sensory organs then people do without. Most are able to connect things with a sensation of colour. But every experience is subjective. The number six might appear in a subtle light blue for one person but in a fierce auburn for the other.
While creating this calendar, we interviewed synaesthetes, telling us which colours or sensation they connect to each month. Their answers are reflected in abstract pieces – completed with a quote. In order for the motif to be completely visible, we have removed all typography from the designs.

Time to Grow

My Illustration is about one aspect I have been noticing a lot of on social media during quarantine. Everyone is hell bent on self improvement during quarantine and while that is a honorable goal I want to remind people, that growing is not a race and sometimes surviving and feeling the sun of your face is all you need.

noś maseczkę (wear a mask)

Black and white print on red paper.
Red alert color.
The poster was designed in the second edition of the “GRAFICY MEDYKOM” campaign. The participants’ task was a graphical support for doctors during the coronavirus pandemic. The posters were to show how necessary it is to follow the rules of hygiene and safety.

serendipitous wayúu culture

Wayuu textil accessories with exotic patterns and striking color constellations, such as bags, blankets and armbands are created by the Wayuu, an indigenous tribe in North of Colombia. The textiles are well known for its high quality tailoring technique, which are made entirely by hand.

I researched a way to reproduce the color constellation of those accessories with creative coding in Processing. An unique pattern is weaved every time the program is run.

Danaë 2021

The artwork Danaë 2021 refers to the ambivalence of loneliness. On the one hand, loneliness is frightening and can lead to depression. The social isolation during the current pandemic has again obviously demonstrated us this. On the other hand, loneliness can also be a kind of spiritual relaxation in which you can gather new strength, rearrange your thoughts and foster creativity.
Although the digital world helps us to stay in contact with our friends and family, but it will never replace a real meeting, especially a hug.

An oder to my youth and homage to growing up

I’ve always been some kind of hopeless romantic. I follow whatever ignites my light and for some reason colour is something I am very drawn to. The realization you expect as you get older is to feel some sort of calm in everything. Nevertheless I don’t feel the need to calm down when it comes to colour. It was my first real love and an ode to my youth coupled with a homage to growing up.

75 Years Landjugend Plainfeld

»Hau di her, samma mehr!« A saying in heavy austrian accent, roughly translated as »sit down and join the party«, that everyone in Austria knows and is almost representative for a celebration. As a result, it fits perfectly as a leitmotif for the 75th anniversary party of the »Landjugend Plainfeld«. Here is a first insight into the extensive design that we created on the occasion of the anniversary.

Please Madame – Young Understanding

Please Madame is an Austrian pop-rock band who wanted to be loud with their fourth album “Young Understanding”. This also had to be reflected in the design.
Large, colored areas that address the youthful topics of sex, alcohol and partying without a lot of extravagance, also visualize the extravagance that characterizes youth. To be different, revolutionary, rebellious and not reticent. Combined with the specially made, strong symbol, which consists of the initials P and M and now functions as a logo, the result is a cover in which young people can find themselves and also feel understood.
