For the construction of growing cities and infrastructure a huge amount of raw materials are needed. In order to meet the demand for raw materials, we have developed various methods for mining and processing them out of the ground.

Coexist means to be in the same point even if on different surfaces. Coexist means giving each system the same chance to build one. To coexist is to see the entire playing surface and to be able to move without limits. Coexist means sharing, cutting a space, living it, building it, protecting it.

This is the representation of the longest co-existence, literally intended, that I have ever had with another human being.

“US” is a poster that shows a chain-like union between two different letters and conveys a message of mutual aid and collaboration that promotes human coexistence.

Learn how to coexist is a long process which takes time and common effort. Someone decides to play a role in this scenario, and someone else prefers to stay outside of the path, but we all determine the outcome.

The world of images in the media exerts an enormous influence on people through the omnipresence with which they encounter us in everyday life. The myths that are spread by it are mostly just synthetic products that have been tested for their media effectiveness.

The power of this stream of images is so great that it can hardly be seen separately from real life, as it has so occupied our subconscious that it is more existent to us than reality itself.

The photographs from German amusement parks in the year 1984 capture situations of everyday life that illustrate the interweaving of the everyday pictorial symbols of the media with our real life.

The symbol “XOXO” is often used as a sign-off, representing love, affection, or friendship. I arranged the “coexist” in such a way that the “XO” is highlighted while the other letters are literally blurred to represent the blurring of lines existing between us.

We only got one world. There is no instruction how to build it. But we should be careful what the future might look like and think about it while we are building it.

George Floyd, an African-American man, was killed by a white police officer 25th of May, 2020. The police officer kept his knee on Floyd’s neck, even after he became unresponsive. George Floyd was handcuffed and lying faced down on the streets. He kept repeating that he can’t breathe.

After 31.12.2019 nothing will be as before.
All of us need to rethink our relationship with the others and especially with the our planet and ecosystem. In few words we need to rethink our coexistence with everything around us.

I wrote the word “coexist” with the Braille, which was the first writing system with binary encoding.

Going through some weird times, lately, we the people have learnt to appreciate living together a little bit more. At least, let’s suppose we tried so.
However, we are used to live in a repetition. Going back and forth, forgetting easy and making a wrong twice knowing is not the right one.
Let’s be positive.
It’s necessary to eliminate the toxicity between us (and our relationships) as we need to prevent the pollution of the environment.
Brighter days will come, stay safe, trust actions not just words.

Looking for a definition of the word coexistence, I found many of them but the one that leaves me the full meaning was this one by Oxford Learner’s dictionary: “the state of being together in the same place at the same time”. I just love it because the meaning is open and at the same time so close and precise. I tried to visualize the concept of being together in the same place at the same time just playing with the type (Founders Grotesk by Kilm Type Foundry), trying to make the letters coexist.

Our trust in each other to reach out―understand―adapt and co-operate

Even if that probably seems naive and a bit hippie: I am convinced that if we collectively stop being shitty assholes, the world would be a better place. Simple as that.

We live in strange times — overwhelmed by information and in a constant paralysis; shocked by absurd events that some time ago were not believed to be possible.
Many of us might feel powerless and submit to this feeling. But: our everyday lives are the result of our daily actions and decisions. Maybe not so much in a global sense, but even more in direct social coexisting.
