The discovery of new levels of love, appreciation and gratefulness to all of ukrainians, who fight to save Ukraine, ukrainians and freedom.
zine — death in june
A few pages from the zine-performance in 5 acts. It consists of the heard thoughts, the observed, the reflection on why my design is so personal, the actions from the sacred and intimate archives, and the final act — a celebration of our decadence. A personal history of reflection with one’s own person, figuratively, the death in June.
Fight till the end
Painful reality of being a ukrainian. The right to simply live is earned with blood and struggles.
Rebuff.
Ukraine gives a worthy rebuff to the Russian onslaught. The Cossack spirit of freedom helps in this. They remember their history.
Kiosk: Independent opinion
Is it possible to have an independent opinion at all, living in a society where there are so many opinions, information noise, and circumstances around us? This poster shows the marketplace of opinions through the metaphor of an ordinary market stall with a bored saleswoman. The poster is an hommage to Heorhii Narbut, famous Ukrainian graphic artist. The figure of the saleswoman is a stylized girl from Narbut’s illustration for the magazine “Art”. The lettering is inspired by Narbut’s typeface.
Kyiv Poster – 1 of 3
In my visual metaphor, Kyiv is an amalgam of concrete, glass, and plastic. Sometimes they are fused together in a very naive way and sometimes in a complicated modernist tempo. The curvy and rhythmical architectural forms were the inspiration for this poster which, just like Kyiv, in some places is replicating itself by a rhyme of shapes and materials and sometimes is just as unique and charismatic as Kyiv is.
Why
This illustration emerged in the train, on my way from Poland to Germany in March. I’ve fled to Poland on the second day of the full-scale war. Shortly, at the beginning of March, russian military shelled the school, which is only 200 meters away from my mom’s and brother’s apartment. The girl in this illustration reflects my feelings over the past 1.5 years.
Logo for Opera-Myth «Ukraine – Terra Incognita»
Opera-Myth «Ukraine – Terra Incognita» combines the ancient Ukrainian songs, symphonic music, free jazz, video art and innovative costumes. The opera is dedicated to the singer and warrior Wassyl Slipak. The logo combines elegance and brevity, tradition and modernity. The project was implemented by YMCA Lviv. In collaboration with: Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Ministry of Defenсe of Ukraine, Lviv National Opera.
Heart of Ukraine
All ukrainian national symbols gathered to be protected and preserved by all kinds of ukrainian people – young and old, women and men, soldiers and civils.
Conscience
A quotation for the poster is taken from “To Every City Its Customs & Laws” by Ukrainian philosopher Hryhory Skovoroda. The literal meaning of the quotation is “I know that death is like a scythe, even a king cannot escape it.”
Renaissance of Ukraine
The belief in justice, victory and times when ukrainians will be able to nourish native land with flowers and not with their own blood.
Kamenyar typeface
Kamenyar is a serif typeface but not the regular one. Its strong serifs and a little shaky stems make it playful and brisk. Polite and regular from afar but when you look closely it reveals its rebel mood.
Tryzub
What it means – to be Ukrainian in a time of war? It means feeling evil when all is covered with it but still keeping your head high.
The sounds of the war
This is my country, and I haven’t been there for almost 6 months. This is my home, and I love it. And now my home is in a huge danger.
Self-portrait. Self-identification.
The first self-portrait since the start of the russian-ukrainian war. Symbolic way not to give up, to remember the roots, be proud to be ukrainian even in the most horrifying circumstances.
A step
Is it a step invaders make to the foreign land, or is it a step of coming back home?
Madonnas of Hutsul region
This poster was created as part of the Yellow&Blue project by Pictoric, an association of Ukrainian illustrators, for a series dedicated to different regions of Ukraine. The Hutsul region in the West of Ukraine is known for its many traditional chapels depicting the Virgin Mary or Jesus Christ. They are a great example of vernacular art, as people create the décor from small figurines, plastic flowers and candles.
Сoncerned. 80 level.
UN! This is not a movie!!! This is the life of people!!!
Zaporizhzhia NPP – should not become the second Chernobyl!!!
All this can still be prevented!
Home
The deep connection to your home and your land can come quite unexpectedly. You can call yourself a cosmopolitan as many times, as you’d like to. But when someone comes to ruin your house, you quickly recollect in your memory that this particular house is yours.
The Sprouts
Ukraine is one of the largest grain suppliers to the world markets. The way our agrarians cultivated and harvested the fields under shelling, impressed the world. I’m still stunned with this too, as well as with how people who grow different crops in their own gardens, share food with the others, and maintain a close connection with their land.
Cortisol Poster
This poster is a creative expression of the author’s feelings. This is what it feels like to sit every night in the hallway and listen to missiles or Shahed flying. At some point, there is so much cortisol that it becomes poison and starts to eat up from the inside.
chaos is the destruction, and that is the source
My main reflection of the year is that those emotional states I find myself in, what I transmit, can exist. I blamed myself for being able to do something only personal, due to my own mental wars and emotional battles, thinking that nobody needs it, only me. Where’s the meaning in that? But it can be. My destruction, this chaos, can be a source, not just destruction.
Not a Barbie girl
The pianist
Prominant Lithuanian pianist Darius Magintas performed open-air near the ruins of the House of Culture in Irpin as a way to raise money for all who suffered in russian invasion.
