Hot Printing 2026

Offenbach Print Festival, 22 and 23 August 2026

Author: Katharina Hepp

It’s set to be another colourful and diverse weekend: For the third time, the Hot Printing Festival in Offenbach will bring together more than 90 artists who explore the theme of print in a wide variety of ways. A young and dynamic scene will showcase their printed works—from screen-printed posters and traditional letterpress to experimental lithography, material printing, comics, and zines in vibrant colors produced on a Risograph printer.

Printing plays a major role in Offenbach’s history: Lithography was first used commercially in Offenbach to print sheet music at the end of the 18th century, laying the foundation for the printing of posters and illustrations, which are now ubiquitous. The Klingspor Museum collects modern and contemporary printed works, and small print workshops and initiatives have been establishing themselves in the city over the past few years. Printing is simply part of Offenbach’s identity, and exhibitors from the surrounding area are now looking forward to welcoming a diverse range of visitors, along with print enthusiasts from Leipzig, Hamburg, Berlin, Vienna, Zurich, and the Netherlands.

As well as browsing and shopping, visitors can also try their hand at printing: The hands-on program includes postcard printing on the Boston platen press in the print workshop, Lego printing and kitchen lithography, a sock-printing station using screen printing, cyanotype, and water lithography, as well as a host of talks, demonstrations, and readings. The workshops are aimed at print enthusiasts of all ages—whether you are an experienced printer or a curious beginner, there is something for everyone!
