Hoopers Club SS22 Collection

For Hoopers PT’s 2022 summer clothing line, João Varela created a custom display typeface and a series of bold typographic compositions built around basketball slang. Inspired by the geometry of a basketball, the typeface contrasts straight lines with rounded curves and uses condensed proportions to suggest the sport’s vertical movement. The final graphics were created by cutting, shifting, and rearranging the letterforms, combining the energy of basketball with streetwear.
