Slanted in Amsterdam: Mainstudio
Slanted Magazine #41—Amsterdam
Revealing the limitless ingenuity of Amsterdam’s design landscape within our 41st publication, the Slanted crew undertook an adventure through the enchanting heart of the Netherlands’ capital. Amidst our trip, we were fortunate to intersect with Edwin van Gelder from Mainstudio. He kindly opened the doors of his studio, inviting us to partake in his passion and visionary pursuits.
Mainstudio is a design practice based in Amsterdam founded by Edwin van Gelder. Within a strong dialog with commissioners, the studio creates projects deriving from the intersection of art and architecture—as visual identities, publications, and digital media. The work has won countless awards including: Best Dutch Book Design, AIGA 50 Books, TOKYO TDC, and ADC NY.
The work of Mainstudio can be found in the Slanted Magazine #41—Amsterdam. Additionally we shot a video interview with Edwin van Gelder, talking about his point of view on design and opinion about the future. Take a look at the Amsterdam issue and the video platform for diverse opinions, impressions, inspiration, and motivation.
