Slanted Magazine #3 — Handmade, Custom, Script

In the third issue of  Slanted Magazine #3—Handmade, Custom, Script it’s all about the interface of different technics of design: the contrast of digital and analog aesthetics plus the transitions between everyday life and art.

Calligraphy (Petra Beiße), readymade (Thomas Atzenbeck), graffiti (Jürg Lehni & Ulli Franke), plotting, stencils, cutouts, illustration, painting (Verena Clary), or experimental photography (Marco Negri) are components of this controversy and were completed with interviews (including Erik Spiekermann and the Pfadfinderei) as well as the presentation of handmade, custom and script fonts.

Slanted #2 – Western Issue

»The Good, the Bad and the Ugly« – the second print issue of Slanted is all about the wild (typo)west! Essays and reflections about western types of Thomas Mettendorf and Dan Reynolds, Peter Brugger’s excellent type family Gringo, a Country Music review, TypoLyrics, selected western typefaces (Baseline Fonts, Garagefonts, Linotype, Misprinted Type and much more), photo series, and illustrations show a profile to the topic. Additionally, the best extracts of the weblog are presented as well as an overview about all reviewed magazines and interviews (CornelWindlin, Piero Borsellino, Büro Destruct etc.) on www.slanted.de.

Slanted #0 – Volcano Type

The »number zero« introduces the idea of Slanted – the feeling of typography – and displays the typefaces of the type label Volcano Type. Beside a title story about the topic anticipation, the main part of the magazine uncludes interviews (including Jean François Porchez, Leslie Cabarga and Vier5), a photo series of the Bastard World Tour, illustration of type names, plus the presentation of diverse typefaces. Additionally, an index presents published articles from the Internet and portraits of bloggers in the category »fan blog.«
