Independent Publishing Festival
Indiecon 2023, a three-day publishing festival held in Hamburg’s Oberhafen, celebrates its 10th anniversary by bringing together independent magazine, book, art print, and zine publishers from around the world. This year the festival presents more than 120 exhibitors from 30 countries and 20 german cities.
What makes this event truly special is the introduction of publishing planets, curated by four experts, dedicated to topics they champion, including independent magazine matters, artist book architectures, small press tools, and storytelling methods. It’s an immersive experience that offers unique insights into the world of independent publishing.
Visitors can engage with creators, explore publications, and be captivated by a diverse range of artistic expression and thought. Indiecon believes in the power of independent publishing to shape a free society by providing glimpses into different realities, sparking ideas, and encouraging positive change.
Returning to the newly opened, community-run Gleishalle, Indiecon reaffirms its commitment to fostering a sense of belonging and camaraderie among creators and attendees. Since its inception in 2014, Indiecon has grown into an international platform for publishers, showcasing resilience even during challenging times.
