Discovering the awe-inspiring design scene of Amsterdam in our 41st issue! Slanted set sail on an inspiring journey through the enchanting capital of the Netherlands. Our exploration led us to the talented Donald Beekman, who warmly invited us into his creative studio on his charming houseboat.

Donald Beekman born and raised in Amsterdam studied at the Rietveld Art Academy. He started the graphic design studio DBXL and has been part of Typeradio since its beginnings in 2004. All his life Beekman has been played in bands, which has given him a large network in the music scene. Beekman also designed many typefaces, mostly emanating from logos or art-work designed for clients.

His work can be found in the Slanted Magazine #41—Amsterdam. Additionally we shot a video interview with him, talking about his point of view on design and opinion about the future.
