Pop-Soviet

Being born in a post-Soviet country, I was curious about the period of the USSR. In this project, I tried to imagine a world in which the merging of Soviet and Western cultures happens right after WWII as if the Cold War had never happened. American pop-art comic book culture, recreated by Roy Lichtenstein, merges with photographs taken from my family archive. Ordinary everyday scenes cease to be so when they merge with a riot of colors.

illustration to the poem `Peace` created by small great author

Peace

Peace…
…love and happiness
for all mankind.
…the world needs unity
in any situation.
Peace…
…the war must end
for the world to improve.
…if war is banned
peace will be restored.
Peace…
…in war there are people suffering
no love to receive.
…we want harmony and tranquility
to live in fraternity.
Peace…
…White Dove, bring to society
friendship, goodwill and liberty.

Archiky toys

Archiky toys — are architectural toys for children. The idea is to build a strong brand that nurtures the growth of imaginative abilities and encourages the manifestation of daring, creative solutions. Archiky’s key visual is the toys’ details that have come to life and turned into adorable characters. They will give tips on taking good care of the toys or share fascinating stories about architecture and design. Toys design: bude architects, Denys and Julia Shataliuk.

Roots

The brand wanted to emphasise the difference between years and range of taste, but in the simplest way as it’s possible. As a result, we decided to show the taste in a bit unusual way, and literally draw it. The idea was to try the wine and draw the feeling with closed eyes.

The memory exercise

The “Memory Exercise” project was created to capture and preserve memories of the hometown and the house where Danyl spent his childhood. The house was destroyed, along with the family photo archive, by the Russian invasion. Everything that reminded of a carefree childhood in Rubizhne was destroyed. So, digital photos taken on an old phone in 2006 were used as the basis and transformed into illustrations and text as a small reminder of his home and peaceful times.
