The Slanted Video Archive—
Capturing Design History in Motion
Slanted is a leading design magazine, exploring either specific design topics or the creative scene of particular cities and countries. For location-based issues, the team meets designers, illustrators, photographers and other creatives in their studios, capturing personal conversations that provide authentic insights into local creative communities.
These encounters have grown into the Slanted Video Archive, freely accessible online—a unique resource documenting how design is lived, practiced, and experienced worldwide. The videos serve as time capsules of contemporary design history, preserving voices, ideas, and approaches that shape the creative world.
Educators and institutions are invited to stream and use these materials for teaching and research, providing students with direct access to the thoughts and experiences of international creatives. For the first time, Slanted also presents a short documentary film accompanying one of its location-based issues—offering a cinematic glimpse into the energy, diversity, and spirit of a city’s design scene.
With every publication and interview, Slanted continues to expand this living archive, making the global language of design visible, accessible, and alive.
